Jason Phillips, DDS received his Bachelor’s of Science degree from UT-Knoxville and his doctorate of dental surgery from UT-Memphis. He also completed advanced training at UT Medical Center in the general dental practice residency program.

Dr. Phillips is passionate about providing patients of all ages with excellent dental care,using advanced technologies. He is beloved by his patients because of the personal level of care he provides. Are Lasers Safe?

When used properly, laser dental treatments are safe, effective, and often preferred over other traditional treatments. At Family Dentistry of Knoxville, our dental team is highly trained in the safe and proper use of our tools, including our lasers. Treatments are even safe for kids! What Treatments Use Lasers?

Lasers are powerful dental tools that can precisely remove both hard and soft tissue. As such, they can be used in a wide range of procedures from fillings to treating gum disease and canker sores. Depending on the procedures and the patient’s current oral health, laser dentistry can often replace traditional methods such as drilling.
How Can I Prevent Cavities?

To help prevent cavities, schedule regular teeth cleaning appointments, floss at least once a day, and always spend three minutes brushing your teeth. This period of time will rid your mouth of the bacteria that destroys your tooth enamel. However, do not brush too hard. It only takes a small amount of pressure to remove plaque and bacteria from teeth. In addition, watch your sugar intake and brush your teeth, or rinse out your mouth, after every meal.
